Two things happened to Sarah in high school that would mark her for life. She met Todd Palin, the man whom she would later marry, and she played basketball. Playing on the high school women’s championship basketball team would be an experience she later described as life-changing. After graduating from Wasilla High School in 1982, Sarah and a friend spent most of the next year in Hawaii, where they attended college.
