I don't know whether I can be considered to be qualified to advise people about how to deal with their children as I am only a child myself (even though someone said - I can't remember who that the best experts on AS are the people with AS themselves), but if I can give any advice at all I would say that it is much better to bring up the child so they know and accept at an early age that they are different from other people and why. If it is talked about quite easily and casually, then they will just accept that AS or whatever is part of them and they are unique and special.

Some teachers are just nasty and will jump at the chance of making fun of someone.
